The census calculator

One census point.
Every building you run.

Brand work pays back through occupancy. Set the sliders to your portfolio and watch what a single point of census does to annual revenue when it lands across every community at once.

Think in day rates? Multiply your average per-diem by 30. A $300 per-diem is $9,000 a month.

How the math works

Three numbers.
Multiplied.

01

Portfolio beds

Communities times average beds. A 6-building portfolio at 120 beds runs 720 beds. Every point of census moves 7 of them at once.

02

Census lift

One point of occupancy across 720 beds is roughly 7 more residents in place on any given day. Two points is 14. The lift lands on every building at the same time, which is why the number gets big fast.

03

Revenue

Added residents times monthly revenue per occupied bed, times 12. Assisted living tends to sit around $5,000 to $6,000 a month. Skilled nursing per-diems put it far higher.

What the sliders can't know

The calculator gives you the ceiling.

Whether a brand engagement reaches that ceiling depends on 3 things the sliders can't measure.

  • The building has to be clinically strong. Brand can't fix a 1-star CMS rating. The work needs something real to point at.
  • The growth has to exist. A community at 96% occupancy from local referrals has almost no census ceiling left to claim. The lift comes from cold territories and referral sources that should be sending but aren't.
  • The work has to get deployed. A brand system sitting in a box moves nothing. Someone has to walk it into hospital intake meetings and put it in front of families.

We walked through the full engagement math, with real numbers, in the rebrand ROI breakdown. The Glades West case study shows what year one looked like in practice: 30+ admissions from a hospital territory that had been cold since 2021.
